A warm welcome awaits guests at Tosberry Cottage, set in a tranquil location, in an area of outstanding natural, wild beauty, with spectacular views of the sea and Lundy Island. We are just a short walk from Bursdon Moor, close to Hartland Forest, only 2 miles from the spectacular Hartland Quay and its beach and the thriving village of Hartland. We offer two fully modernised, tastefully decorated double rooms, both ensuite and with sea views.
The original part of the house is over 200 years old and was once a farm-worker's cottage. Come and enjoy a delicious home-cooked or continental-style breakfast, using local produce whenever possible; savour the peace and beauty of our wonderful, large garden, stocked with so many different shrubs and plants and with its magnificent views of the sea, Lundy Island and surrounding countryside - perfect for unwinding, painting, reflection or meditaiton. You can watch the wide variety of birds that visit our garden, including wild pheasants, jays, great spotted woodpeckers, buzzards and hawks and you may also see the other wildlife we have spotted here - foxes, hares, rabbits and deer.
We are also ideally situated for walking the dramatic North Devon coastal path and for visiting the many nearby beaches, as well as the villages of North Devon and Cornwall (border only 3 miles away) and also Lundy Island, Appledore and Bideford. We are committed to sustainable living and tourism. Ask us for any information you need about any aspect of your stay, including where to eat and places to visit. Guests have their own warm and bright living room with comfy sofa and tub chairs, wood burning fire and a good selection of books. The patio doors lead onto the garden, where you may wish to sit and relax and enjoy the peace, the bird-song, as well as the stunning views! There is also a TV with freeview and a DVD player with a selection of DVD's. We offer free Wi-fi.
